Dec. 16th, 2013 09:05 pmAge: 18 maybe? In the first book Percy guesses she's a year or two older than him, but she's big and aggressive so he could be overestimating, and apparently he's always been too scared to just ask.
Height: Taller than average
Weight: Probably heavier than average too WOW VERY MUSCLE SUCH STRONG
Medical Info: Standard half-blood stuff likely applies. Dyslexia, ADHD, etc. Surely some battle scars somewhere or other
Eyes: brown
Hair: brown
Physical traits: Tall, muscular, very scowly. According to Percy, she’s “ugly and mean-looking” BUT SCREW YOU PERCY NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR BIASED OPINIONS. Probably carrying multiple weapons on her person at all times, even if you can’t always see all of them :>
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: whatevs?
Abilities: Like other half-bloods, the dyslexia is caused by her brain being naturally wired to understand ancient Greek more easily than other languages like English, and the ADHD is caused by her senses and reflexes being sharper than average to give her an advantage in battle.
Children of Ares also seem to naturally be exceptionally strong and fast and have a proficiency with weapons that lets them master their usage faster than most. Mostly hand-to-hand stuff rather than ranged weapons, but Clarisse thinks those can be pretty awesome too! Add into that several years’ worth of year-round training in Camp Half-Blood, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a fighter, even if she’s not always so great at the whole “strategizing” thing.
Also she has the ability to control the dead, so long as they were once soldiers on the losing side of a war.
The abilities below could either be something she’s capable of herself or something she was only able to do because Ares stepped in and used his godly powers to help. I’m a little unsure on it, so they’re getting separated:
Magical influence over weapons, like turning a bunch of other people’s arrows into harmless rubber.
The “blessing of Ares,” which allows his children to temporarily glow with a red fiery aura and become invulnerable, highly destructive, and pretty darn terrifying. This is very rare and seems to happen under only very specific circumstances. I'm still trying to figure out what those are exactly though. Moments of deep, overwhelming rage? Moments of great heroism? Moments where the demigod in question is pretty much single-handedly taking over a battlefield? I dunno! The fact that it might work slightly differently for Greek demigods and Roman demigods makes it even more confusing to me. Oh well!
OH AND NOT AN ABILITY BUT she has a spear with electric zappy powers she named “Maimer.” Clarisse is not always the most creative person in the world.
Notes for the Psychics/Magically or Spiritually sensitive: Half-god is the obvious thing that comes to mind. In canon, monsters and stuff can smell the demigod on them very easily, and for some reason using cellphones is like sending up a big flare into the sky begging bad things to come find them. Anyway, her heart is all kinds of rage and war and bloody spears and whatnot, but also thrilling heroics and brothers in arms and such? Also her dad is big and angry and scary as shit, and her immortal half-brothers are literally fear and terror themselves. The term phobia is named after one of them. And all three of them are sexist, violent jerkwads who are usually not very nice to Clarisse and don’t often really believe in her, so she’s got some big insecurities there that she tries to hide. Also she doesn’t hate Percy quite as much as she says she does, but she has a reputation to uphold I mean damn. Friendship is so embarrassing.
